On September 5, 2024, Sarah Henry and I are opening our first ever CADI Institute for Instructional Leaders. CADI stands for (you guessed it!) Curriculum, Assessment, Design and Instruction. Over the past few years, we've had the privilege of working closely with many instructional leaders--most of whom sit in the director, assistant superintendent, coordinator, department head or coach roles. And while many would say our "bread and butter" coaching support comes from coaching PLC teams and PLC leaders, there is SO MUCH behind-the-scenes-planning and coaching with this initial group--before we ever get to the teacher-leader stage.
While there are existing affinity spaces for leaders in the CADI space, we've found these often serve an important role of providing district leaders a space to process state updates and regulations. And while that is an important part of CADI leadership roles, we felt there was a missing piece in professional development or cohort space for these leaders.
So...we are doing what we usually do...creating a space that we believe is needed. We get to sit, week after week, planning and designing with instructional leaders in our various districts--and we can see the power in bringing these teams and leaders together to learn from each other.
We also have spent A LOT of time coaching newer instructional leaders about effective planning for curriculum, assessment, design and instruction. We want to create a space where these newer leaders can turn to a cohort for support--in addition to having our guidance. We can offer you the best ideas we have seen so far...but our perspective is still so much more limited than an entire group of people.
So with that in mind, we are so excited to invite instructional leaders to join us in the first ever CADI Institute. We'll run 5, 90 minute sessions throughout the school year. Each session will have a specific focus, and will include a blend of direct learning plus product sharing in small groups.
We have coaches and teacher leaders joining us--as well as specialists, principals, directors, and assistant superintendents. Because of our nice blend of roles, we'll divide the group into two smaller groups: One for teacher leaders and coaches, and one for administrators.
The cost for the year-long cohort, of 7.5 hours of learning, plus access to instructional leaders from around the country is $200/person. Teams who would like to register 6-10 members can do so at a reduced rate of $175/person.
If you have been looking for a flexible space to grow your CADI leadership--we invite you to join us (and the fantastic cohort members who have already registered). And, if this isn't the right space for you--but you know it's the right space for a colleague--please share!
We're starting on September 5 (less than 1 month from this post) and we can't wait to meet this year's fantastic group.
